Owned
and managed by professional engineers with many years’ experience,
Filtration Engineering Ltd has developed into a business rooted in the
air quality control
systems sector predominantly in the food and pharmaceutical industries, with
two divisions, namely projects and service contracts.
“Controlled environments” is a term used to describe a (processing) space where a level of particulate contamination is controlled and monitored. All very good if particulate is the issue. In the food industry the problem is somewhat more complex. We have micro organisms that can result in product spoilage and their containment and elimination can play an important role in overall product quality control.
This is the field into which FEL have immersed themselves over the past ten years to ensure that we play a constructive role in the management of product performance for such foods as milk, yoghurt, cheese, cooked meats and ready meals. There are many less critical applications too, such as bread, morning goods and cereal products.
FEL have developed environmental and process air systems for all major food manufacturers in Britain and our service teams are active throughout the UK. Technical documents and consultancy form a useful section of our work and we are active in energy conservation, which is gaining in importance in the food industry.
Not all our work is food industry based and we have a notable presence in pharmaceutical, paper and general building air quality control.
To complete our air quality and containment programme, FEL are active in odour control and dust filter systems, all of which form part of the air movement process.
